The ads are here because of who I chose to host my site. Fortunecity.com allows me to put 100 Meg of stuff here at no charge. They ask that I allow the ad placement in exchange. I have tried to design the pages so the ads will have minimum impact for those of you who don't like them.
If you would like to try putting up your own page I can say the Fortunecity site has been easy to use. They have a good help section and the uploading process is very easy to use.
