Crawford's in Cool Places

An assortment of vacation and travel photos. I know we have more photos of us travelling than I have here. I am still looking for them.

Tammy took Jenni and the boys to see her parents and mine during the summer of 2000 while I was deployed. They went a way I had never been and stopped off to see Mt. Rushmore.

See, this proves it. They don't really need Dad to go cool places and have a good time.

Early in the year before I left San Diego, Tammy and the kids came down and spent several days with me. We went to Disneyland again and just spent time together. These were taken at a seaside park in La Jolla. Afterwards we went to the Hard Rock Cafe in La Jolla for Scott's birthday.

We have spent a lot of time camping over the last 10 years. We started when we lived in Idaho Falls. Tammy and I had wanted to start camping for several years but the boys were still very young and we didn't have very much money or knowledge to support it. Fortuneately, two things came together in Idaho Falls that let us get started. First, we found that we could rent camping equipment for literally pennies a day from the Navy's MWR office and second, we learned that our good friend Bill Jones was an eagle scout and also wanted to take his family camping. Over the years we started to buy some of our own stuff and got braver about camping. Tammy has become an excellent campfire cook using only an open fire and old cast iron pots and pans. We have always been traditional tent campers, not wanting to "drag a trailer house into the woods." as I have said on numerous occasions. Now that Tammy and I are getting older we are starting to think about the benefits of a warm dry, comfortable tent trailer or even [David cringes at this point] a camp trailer. I still refuse to consider a behemoth motor home - if you have ever followed one through Yellowstone you will know exactly what I am talking about.
Below you will find selections from our camping trips over the years.
